CloudBacko can be used for data backup purposes; it is a tool that can back up and restore data – any data you select. The application is available as a Lite and as a Pro edition. As expected, the Lite version has less functionality to offer. And as the developer explained, the Lite version should be used on workstations while the Pro version should be used on servers.

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 are supported by CloudBacko Lite. If you have a 32-bit Windows edition, your PC needs to have at least 1GB of RAM memory. And if you have a 64-bit Windows edition, your PC needs to have at least 2GB of RAM memory.

Large tiles for all the features and functions that CloudBacko Lite has to offer are conveniently presented on the interface: view backup sets, create new backup sets, restore data, access the settings menu, view several types of reports, access several handy utilities, purchase a license.

A wizard will help you create a backup set. It will take you through the following steps.

First up, you will have to enter a name for the set, pick a backup set type (File Backup, IBM Lotus Notes Backup, MS Windows System Backup). Assuming you picked the File Backup type, the next step is to choose the data that will be backed up (desktop, documents, favorites, Outlook, Windows Live Mail, or other files).

Next up you will have to choose between running the backup set manually or settings up a schedule for it. Then you will have to pick a backup mode (sequential or concurrent) and choose where the backup will be stored: a local disk or a cloud location (Dropbox, Google Drive, FTP/SFTP, and more). You will then be asked if you want to encrypt backup data; several encryption types are available: AES, Twofish, DESede.

The final step is the Windows User Authentication – enter your Windows username and password.

As mentioned above, CloudBacko is available as a Lite and as a Pro version. Both are free to use for a trial period of 30 days.

Easily create backup sets, specify what data will be backed up, choose to back it up locally or to the cloud, and CloudBacko Lite will do as instructed.

Pros

The system requirements for running CloudBacko Lite aren’t very high. Large tiles are presented on the application’s interface; it’s similar to the Start Menu offered by Windows 8. A wizard will help you create backup sets; a wizard will help you restore data.

Cons

30-day trial.
